“I've been coming here regularly for a few years for various treatments (massage, facial, waxing) and never had a bad experience! The girls are all knowledgeable, friendly, and on top of their game.”
Read more of our reviews on Yelp »Whether you’re in your car driving to work or out for a walk with a hat, it is extremely important to wear protection daily because it protects against the UV rays, and thus skin cancer. You will always get a little color even if you are protecting your skin, but you will not get a severe sunburn. Wearing daily sun care not only protects the largest organ of your body, your skin, from free radical damage – it protects against skin cancer, premature aging, wrinkling, pigmentation and leathery looking skin. Staying out of the sun during the peak hours of sun exposer (between 1-3pm) and always reapply your sun protection are some other good tips!
What is the difference between sunscreen & sunblock?
The difference between a sunblock and sunscreen is a sunblock is a physical SPF and a sunscreen is a chemical SPF.
Sunblock contains physical or inorganic ingredients that reflect and scatter the UVB light and acts as a wall between your skin and the sun. I recommend using Titanium Dioxide or Zinc Oxide as the main ingredients in your sunblocks. This us a better choice if you have sensitive skin. A sun block reflects UVA and UVB sun rays. Sun blocks are made with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. These inorganic compounds sit on top of the skin and are not absorbed, causing it to be non-irritating and non-allergic. This makes it a physical sun block. I like that because it is a natural mineral and non-toxic to your body. That fact that it is a physical sun block, when applying it often appears white on the skin. To prevent this is – add a pea size to your daily moisturizer.
Sunscreen contains chemicals that protect your skin by absorbing and reflecting UV rays and allows a certain range of UV light to be absorbed into the skin. Chemical sunscreens contain benzophenones, cinnamates, and salicylates which tend to be less visible. These types of ingredients expire faster on the skin. So, there is more of a need to reapply this type of sunscreen.
Larissa’s Favorite Sun Protection

Daily I wear my PRIORI Natural Daily Protectant SPF 25 layered with my PRIORI Coffeeberry Mineral Makeup. The combination of SPFs will keep me well protected because the mineral is a sunblock and they both won’t expire. When I’m out being active I like to wear my Epicuren Active Sport. It is water resistant and protects excellent. My husband likes this SPF for golfing and surfing. For my son, I like the Natural Banana boat SPF 50+. It has excellent protection and is a physical & natural protection. If I forget my SPF, I always have this one in the cars and beach bags. It works great for the whole family!
Erin’s Favorite Sun Protection

My favorite sun protection for my face is Epicuren’s X treme Cream SPF 45 and for my body it would be the Epicuren’s Zinc Oxide SPF 20. I love the Epicuren’s X treme Cream because it has propolis in it which is very healing. My face is a little on the dryer side – so it really looks refreshed without looking greasy. I like Epicuren Zinc Oxide SPF 20 for the body because it is nice and light weight. It’s a zinc based sunscreen which is calming, even for my son Grant.
