“Urban Skin Care has been a Godsend. I recently moved to San Diego from the Midwest and literally knew NOBODY– Erin, Larissa, and the girls at Urban are just so warm, friendly, and fabulous.”
Read more of our reviews on Yelp »Having Bold Brows is a trend right now. The eyebrows are the first features that people notice on us. Personally, we like to keep our brows natural thickness, light arch, and rich color. With any trend, you want to find a way to make it work with your own look – for this trend, maybe this means filling in your brows for a fuller look.

If bold brows are what you want this is how you get them…
Don’t tweeze or wax your eyebrows for a few weeks so you can see where your natural brow growth is.
First, you should have a tint done – this will bring out the richness of your natural color. It also darkens any grays or light blond hairs. So many men and women are surprised at how much brow was really there, but it was just hard to see.
After a tint, we will look at your natural shape and achieve the look you want. It is always helpful to bring in a picture of your favorite brows. The esthetician will be able to tell where your natural brow grows in and will leave sporadic hairs so within time they will fill in.
Next, it is important to go in with the makeup and really shape the brow. I recommend a nice slant wedged brow brush. I love all the Booby Brown brush collections. Choose a brow powder that is the closest to your color brow and lightly apply brush strokes into your brow hair. Always start off light and add more color for a deeper richer look.
To shape your brows, take a pencil and measure from inner corner of your eye up to brow. It measures with a slight slant. Your brows should not go any further in form there. The arch in your brow is measure at the outer line of your iris. Last, the end of your brow should measure not shorter than the outer corner of eye the end of brow bone. This will measure your brow symmetrical to your beautiful face.
Are bold brows a good idea for every face shape?
We have slightly conflicting opinions on this one!
Larissa: The bolder the better. The more brow….the better!! No matter what shape your face is.
Erin: I would have to say no, but a good solid brow I think looks great on everyone. As you get older your eyebrows will not grow in as full – so make sure not to over pluck or wax to always have your natural brows.
